Due to an oversupply, both Envision and Lids4Kids have suspended their collection of plastic bottle caps. In the pipeline are new projects for both organisations, so hopefully the collection will recommence in the future. At St Andrew’s we would ask that you keep and store bottle caps at home. Bread Tags are still being collected.
If you are unable to store at home:
Ku-ring-gai Council allow the caps to be placed in the yellow-lidded recycle bins. (For all Councils caps should always be removed from the container).
Willoughby Council only want plastics no smaller than the palm of your hand to be put in recycle bins. Smaller plastics would be placed in rubbish bins.
Northern Beaches Council allow the caps to be put in the recycle bins, but state that plastics smaller that the palm of your hand may fall through the sorting grill and these would then go to landfill. Some caps though may be recycled.
